Satellite Internet Access:
How It Works
Skycasters, VSAT-Systems and most satellite providers use a satellite connection as a high-speed digital link between a customers location and the US Internet backbone. The data travels from the satellite equipment at the customers location, to the satellite, and then to the Satellite Hub for routing to the Internet.
TheHub is a facility where large aperture satellite dishes are operated.

At the Satellite Hub routers are connected to the Internet. This is where the satellite network meets the US Internet backbone.
